Anglican Advocacy: Anti-fracking Campaign

Anglican Advocacy (previously known as the Anglican Social Justice Unit) contributed to an anti-fracking campaign in response to requests for action from the community in 2011. As well as helping to organise public events and distribute information, Anglican Advocacy arranged deputations to community boards and the Council about the issue. Christchurch City Council agreed to call on the government to put a moratorium in place until a full independent inquiry had been undertaken by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment (PCE).
