A PhD thesis for the University of Cambridge: Rebuilding with resilience? A case study of post-disaster infrastructure reconstruction in Christchurch, New Zealand

University of Cambridge Affiliated Lecturer, Dr. Kristen MacAskill, undertook qualitative research to determine factors that affect the ability of engineers to include resilient measures in rebuilding civil infrastructure systems. The abstract of her final PhD thesis is attached.
Kristen is a published academic author and an Affiliated Lecturer and Associate Course Director at the University of Cambridge, specialising in construction engineering. She is a civil engineer by training with experience in the water and transport sectors. Her experience covers diverse areas of infrastructure development, including strategic level options assessment, post-earthquake damage assessment, infrastructure design, project management and sustainability assessment.
