FESTA 2013: Agropolis

Photographs of Agropolis, a scalable urban farm on the corner of High Street and Tuam Street.

Agropolis involves the composting of organic waste from inner city hospitality businesses, as well as the growing, harvesting, and distribution of produce. It tests questions about the city’s food resilience; land use and food production; and distribution in relation to the planning of the city.

Agropolis was initiated in 2013 as a collaborative project by FESTA, Garden City 2.0, AECOM, A Local Food Project, Juliet Moore, Andreas Wesener (Lincoln University), Liv Worsnop (Plant Gang) and Rosie Brittenden (Christchurch Youth Council).
