The Southshore Beacon

The Southshore Beacon is a community newsletter published by the Southshore Residents Association. Since the publication of the first edition in 1989, it has served as a forum to promote awareness of local issues and foster community spirit. Each edition also contains advertisements for local businesses, community notices, classifieds and diversions. Southshore was severely affected by the earthquakes, and in the aftermath the Beacon has been looking after local interests by providing guidance on issues like dealing with insurers, the Earthquake Commission, and the zoning process.
