- A misaligned brick wall in front of a property with silt still piled up around it. During the earthquake, liquefaction drove silt to the surface where it erupted out of the ground like a volcano and formed a pile like the one seen here.

- A toppled chimney on a house in Christchurch. The chimney has toppled onto the house but luckily not broken through the roof. It is now broken and lying on the corrugated iron. Below, plastic sheeting has been placed along the side of the roof to replace the missing gutter.

- St Luke's church on the corner of Manchester and Kilmore Streets. Tape and fencing have been placed around the building to keep people away. There is damage to the top of the gable, and tarpaulins covering the hole to prevent weather damage to the inside of the building.
